Halloween 2012 Recap

Look out Josh!!!!!

I love Halloween.  This year I decided to go all out.  I decorated the house, I decorated myself, AND I made a holiday themed dinner!  Most of the Halloween decorations were little things I made or things I purchased.  I started by cutting scary shapes out of black card stock and taping them to the windows.

Unfortunately, our house was one of the only ones that decorated for Halloween, so there weren't many trick or treaters.  That did NOT stop me from dressing up and trying to scare kids.

OoooOooo scary ghost Dana!  I had a lot of fun dressing up.  I think I will try to perfect this next year.

All week I have been pinning things and trying to decide exactly what to make for dinner.  Since I was too busy handing out candy to the few who came by, I didn't really start cooking until late.  I still tried to follow the sketch:

Kroger didn't have baby portabello mushrooms, and I didn't make the filling taste so great.  All in all, the meal looked really cool, but it didn't taste so excellent.

Really, you can stuff these guys with whatever you want.  I didn't cook them long enough, which made them hard to eat.  I don't really have a recipe for you, but there are tons of the internet that can be fit to any diet.

Now that Halloween is over, I need to start planning what to bring for Thanksgiving!  I'll be the only vegan there, which is not unusual, but I want to cook some really bad ass food.  If anyone has any suggestions, I'll all ears!!

Shouldn't these be part of a kids' book?

Root Health Coaching Logo Design

I just finished a logo design for a friend who started a family health coaching business in Fayetteville.  It was a fun project, and I'm happy with the final product! Here are some preliminary sketches: The first sketch was the basis of design, which I created on the ipad, then I moved to a more detailed hand drawn sketch. I used the hand drawn sketch as the base, then cleaned it up in photoshop, live traced it in illustrator, cleaned up the lines, worked on the colors and added text.  Here is the final logo. If you would like to check out the business, see their website here. You can also check out Root Family Health Coaching's facebook page.

For my sister... I am beginning to love the weird and outlandish requests. Anyone have another for tomorrow?
